When the US hit Iraq, it used dunno how many thousands precision guided nukes that rained down on Iraq's strategic buildings and never hit civilians... One such missle : the Tomahawk Cruise Missile... This military operation was nicknamed, "Shock & Awe", as it left the enemy in such a state after it hit them... Well, that's the state i'm in now...

JC life has just hit me with Shock & Awe in the form of common tests... It sure left me in a state of shock and awe... First day wasn't too bad, GP and Econs... But that's the calm before the storm. Come the 2nd and 3rd day, Bio and Maths respectively, that's when the missiles and nukes hit. I came out of the exam venue totally stunned... Following that was a deceptive calmness on Thursday morning with the Chinese paper, before the finishing blow hit after that with the chem paper... I dunny why, but my mind was totally blocked during the tests itself, and the juices only started flowing after the test. There was this mental struggle going on in my head and I was like shouting to myself in my head, "Now then come?! What the hell for?!"...

Now that it's over, i just don't wanna think too much about it, although the occasional thoughts will flash across my mind, resulting in me typing this post as i couldn't stand it anymore... Went Junyang's house after the chem paper on Thursday... Played mahjong, guitar, com... Relaxed a little... Playing songs that you like really helps, like how I played "Drifting" on Yang's acoustic guitar... Dang the feeling is damn shiok. Really just makes you forget about everything... Another thing that really helps is seeing your loved one smile and laugh and be happy... Who was the one that told me relationships are stressful? To whoever it is, it's NOT ok... Instead, it helps. A lot. :)

Well, all we can do now is to enjoy this temporary joy and happiness while it lasts, before the truth hits us all. Again...

Sometimes I just can't help but wonder... Why is the human life so important yet so fragile... ITs can just come and go as it likes, with or without warning...

A friend just passed on not too long ago... Even though we don't know each other that well, but he was still my classmate afterall... It's a sad thing for such a loss... Frankly speaking, he's the last person which I would expect to die at this age...

He's only 17 this year, in RJC, with such a long and promising future of representing Singapore in the SEA Games ahead of him, and yet just when he did his best so far, life just has to make fun of him... What the hell is this freakin' world coming to...

Well, Thaddeus, you're a good man, and you always will... Rest in Peace dude...

Hmmn... Maybe the uncompleted "Minutes to Midnight" by Linkin Park ain't so bad after all... Some songs are actually very nice with super meaningful lyrics... I feel inspired...

as the ocean opens up to swallow you..."

Now, back to the books, shall we?

Just a few more days till school reopens... That translates to the start of the mid-year common tests... Total SIANZATIONZ~~~ Only started to study a little yesterday... Went to Sok Yin's house yesterday and today to study. Well, it was much more productive than if i were to study at home. Haha. If i were to study at home, i'll study for 30 minutes, go play com for 2 hours, then practice the "Drifting" on my guitar for another 2 hours... By the time i finish dinner, i won't have the mood to study le. Lolz.

I just realised today that i actually have A HELL LOT to study... HOLY XIGUA~! And thats not all. There's still the homework i owe... Oh how supercalifragelisticexpialidocious! Just when i thought that i could relax after the CTs... ZzZzZzZz~~~

Just went blog surfing about the OBS camp... Felt very good when i saw that they enjoyed the camp and had fun. Got this sense of satisfaction. Haha. I hope this camp had brought the class closer together and we'll be able to enjoy this 2 years of JC with lots of crazy fun! Haha... Oh I miss the crazy times of 4-10... :P

Ok, gotta go study le... Cya peeps! :)

Phew, just came back from Pulau Ubin... OBS, quite enjoyable generally, though there were some small small hiccups here and there, but it was still not bad. Yup. :)

Day 1:
Met up with my group outside AJC(was a bit late though... Woops! :P). Jun Yang and my dad fetched everyone to punggol jetty where we are to board the ferry to Ubin. Everyone was kind of excited, i think. Lol.

Reached there, settled down, introduction of our instructors, blah blah blah... UNTIL something interesting happened... We were told that to fulfill our NYAA Outdoor Adventure segment, we had to sleep outdoors, literally. That translates to instead of our initial 2 night bunk stay, we are to sleep our first night in the forest and the 2nd in a shelter... I still remember what our instructor said, "For your NYAA... ... ... We cannot give you a room with 4 walls, but we will give you all shelter. No 4 walls, just a shelter..." Yup. He sure did... We built whats called a basha on a small clearing in the forest not too far from OBS Camp 1... Basically its just a "roof" made of tarps and a "floor" made of groundsheets. Our "blankets" were ponchos. How nice...

After that, we all went to learn some basic kayaking skills... Due to some unforeseen circumstances, there was an odd number of kayaks, and because the capsize drill was to be done in pairs, me and Sok Yin didn't manage to do it due to the lack of time... So, oh well. Lolz.

Dinner, wash up and off we go to our nice cosey bedroom in the forest. Didn't manage to sleep much (at the most, the guys all only had about 1 hour and 15 minutes of sleep)... We were all supposed to take turns doing sentry duty, but for some reason, only the guys did it. From what I can see, the girls slept really well. Lolz... But coming back to sentry duty, it's no joke sia... Dunno why, our senses suddenly become super sharp... Every few seconds there's the sound of a broken twig or a rustling of the leaves... After the close incident that happened to me and my group in the DE camp, these sounds start to freak me out... I can't even sleep well, and we were all trying to make some noises as an attempt to keep any animals away but hitting our sticks on the bricks lying around... The night never seemed to end... Dang, no more sentry duty for me man... No more...

Day 2:
Managed to survive the long long night... The guys were all like zombies lah... Made our way back to our proper bunks... Since we still had time, Jun Yang, Han Wei and Kuan Teck pulled out the mattresses and pillows and slept for about 30 mins before heading down to breakfast... Well, we had to grab any opportunity to rest since the next activity was a ROUND ISLAND KAYAKING EXPEDITION!!! Holy XI GUA!!!

After breakfast, we packed what we needed and launched... Everyone was kinda shaky with the paddling at first, but soon after everyone got the hang of it and we moved on smoothly. Sun was kinda hot, but at least the water is calm, with the occasional sea vehical creating wakes as they sailed past us...

Stopped at Pulau Senuku for lunch, but we forgot to bring our mess tins and matches to cook, to we all just ate biscuits and energy bars for lunch. Lolz. After that, we set off again to complete our remaining 50% of our journey... Fortunately, clouds came in and shielded us from the Sun, so the weather was much cooler. Yeap. Had quite a close call in the end. It started raining and the the wind was quite strong, creating strong currents... When we rafted up near the end, we didn't notice that we were drifting dangerously close to a huge rock that was just beneath the surface of the water... Luckily we all saw it just in time and managed to steer safely around it... Man, that was too close for comfort sia....

Beached up at OBS Camp 2... Whoa the whole place was filled with girls... The 7 guys in our group were the only non-instructor guys in the whole campsite... Lolz... A few of us, after settling down in our shelter (luckily man-made and no forest this time... Phew...) KO-ed and slept a while, especially me, Jun Yang, Han Wei and Kuan Teck... Woke up around 9 plus for dinner nicely left for us by the girls... Thankew girls for not finishing all up! :) After that, it was to lalaland...

Day 3:
Woke up with my hands all stiff nad my body numb and aching from the hardcore kayaking yesterday... Kayaked back to OBS Camp 1... BIG wash up of all equipment and ourselves, then lunched... Bought an OBS shirt at the souvenir shop and then went for the flying fox... Kinda disappointing cos it's quite slow; was expecting it to be faster, but then, oh well. Haha.

After the flying fox, we all went back to clear our bunks and went to the jetty to take some pictures. Well, the whole experience was quite fun and memorable... Anthony was quite worked up when he recieved one of the AJ teacher's sms. Haha. Well, she'll freak out if she knew that our whole proposal was changed, but then again, oh well. Haha.

Back on the mainland, went to have dinner with the other 15/07 guys at Hougang Mall. Finally some nice food. Haha. We were all tired and not at 100% health, but we all felt that the camp was quite shiok. :P So after that, we all parted and went home, and now here i am. Haha.

Alrightey then, got 4/10 gathering tomorrow, gotta go lalaland... Now thats all 3 camps DOWN! WOOHOO! Finally got time for some study... Cya peeps! :)

Ok... There's just 2 more weeks left of the June holidays... And I haven't really started on any work yet... Lolz... I'm not too worried about bio, but i'm worried about the rest, especially econs... Haiz... Guess i need to get started on it soon, if not i'll just get screwed! Haha.

Must stop slacking. I believed I have found some sort of motivation to study, and fortunately, gaming does not seem as tempting as before, so i supposed that's a good thing. Haha. Fret not, my CHS Brothers in S15/07, I won't pang seh you guys. Instead, i'll try to bring you guys up along with me! Let's roll gang! 1st step: CUT DOWN ON DOTA. When we get that "M-M-M-Monster KILL~!" in game, we're killing ourselves too, so must reduce. Haha.

(I bet people who know me wouldn't believe their eyes when they see that. Haha.)

Alrightey then... OBS is in another 3 DAYS time... Looking forward to it, especially with all those gear that i bought, together with Jun Yang and Kuan Teck... Hmmn, maybe that's not the only reason. Hehe.

Yesterday was a good day... I believe things are working out fine and the road i'm driving in is a 2-way road, not a 1-way road which i used to drive in... But that 1-way road has been cleared ever since, and now its just a piece of land... Yup. I'm lovin' it. Haha. The little rice grain and the sunflower... ;D

Whooooo... The guitar camp was officially over yesterday! Damn i feel liberated... Haha. Challenged my record during the dinner, but sadly, I didn't managed to break it... 5 pieces of pizza and thats it... Lolz. Then celebrated the closure with some fruit champaign... Quite nice leh, maybe i should keep some at home. Haha. But then, while I was stationed in HQ during the outdoor games, I accidently came across some documents again while searching for scores to play... Haiz, disheartening... Let's just say white specs are gonna be a tradition liao... Aiya, don't care le lah... All that matters is that it's 2 camps down, 1 more to go...

Sadded sia... I dropped my Zen Neeon, and history repeated itself; i can't turn it on anymore. Zzzz... Must go down to PS and exchange for a new one again... Haiz... I'm so gonna get a shock-proof cover for it this time... Then at home, my modem got cranky; it keeps on restarting... Haiz, i dunno what going on lol... Lucky today still ok... :P

Alright, went to school for the bio make-up lecture... Went through the entire chapter on Genetics of Viruses in just 2 hours. Holy XI GUA! Dunno whether is the information crammed into my head or not... Lolz... After that, had bio tutorial after lunch. Hehe, got an ego-boost then. Haha. How did i do it man... Well, i have proven the theory twice that just paying attention during lecture and just reading up on it the day before is enough. Haha. Now, mid years lai le... Cannot use this method anymore, sure die de. Haha. Gotta use the study method liao. :P

Alright, gotta start work le... If not sure no time to finish studying all of the work... FauX, signing off...

Today was the first day of the guitar camp... Well, even though not all turned up due to various reasons, it still went on well lol. We all had fun. :) After camp, 6 other committee members and i went to AMK Hub to get some stuff... Decided to treat the committee members to the fruit champaign for their hard work. Well, thats the least i could do for welfare as the OIC. Yeap.

While resting in the guitar room, i saw some documents... It was something about the exco interview... I saw mine and something in it made my mood drop a little. I thought to myself, "Well, this is what you get for not being serious during interviews." Oh well, its over now and i've gotten over it... All i care for guitar for now is for the camp to go on smoothly and all the J1s will be nicely bonded. After that, its all about performances. I will master that "Drifting" by Andy Mckee... I will and I can. 1 year is a long time to learn that. Haha.

Alright, tomorrow's Day 2 of the camp, and its the last day, so i hope it'll be as good as today, if not better... Cheers to the committee; keep up the good work! :)

I finally remembered what am I supposed to share with you all on my blog after the DE Camp. It's from the movie "Coach Carter". The first time i saw it in CHS, courtesy of Mr Krishnan, this very scene left a very deep impact on me... Then when we were showed it again at the DE Camp, I just couldn't sleep during the screening...

So here it is...

Our Deepest Fear

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were all meant to shine as children do.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
(Originally written by Marianne Williamson)

This is just so enlightening...
